'Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice' Cast Ben Affleck All Set To Star And Direct 'The Batman' Movie Despite Divorce Drama With Wife Jennifer Garner

| By

While "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" star Ben Affleck is currently pre-occupied with all the divorce drama surrounding his marriage with Jennifer Garner, the 42-year-old Hollywood hunk is reportedly very much focused on his career.

The couple recently released a joint statement announcing their breakup.

"After much thought and careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to divorce," the couple said of their marriage according to Vanity Fair. "We go forward with love and friendship for one another and a commitment to co-parenting our children whose privacy we ask to be respected during this difficult time. This will be our only comment on this private, family matter. Thank you for understanding."

While many were heart broken with the couple's decision to finally call it quits, Ben Affleck, who will star as the new Bruce Wayne reportedly has a lot install for him in Hollywood.

Apparently, Warner Bros. is happy with Affleck that they've asked him to not only star but also direct the upcoming standalone movie for Batman titled "The Batman," Latino-Review reported.

Affleck will be joined by "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" writer Chris Terrio in the said standalone film.

Latino Review added that "The Batman" movie is scheduled for a November 2018 release.

Although the news should be taken with a grain of salt, if proven true "The Batman" is going up against Marvel's "Captain Marvel" movie.

Meanwhile, IB Times claimed that Ben Affleck's "The Batman" movie is most likely going to link DC Cinematic Universe.

"It's safe to assume that the film's plot might be strongly linked to the overall DC Cinematic Universe, unless the makers decide to set the story in a different time period," the publication reported.

In a previous interview with Total Film, Heny Cavill, who stars as Superman expressed his admiration to the 42-year-old actor.

"I'm sure he'll be fantastic above all else," Cavill said.

"And as a filmmaker, he's got his own style, you know. He's not copying anyone else. And he's also sort of being tenacious in his career. He's had ups followed by downs and now he's very up again, and I think that requires and shows a very special strength of character. And it's something which I enjoy working with because jobs like this require strength of character, they require a dedication to the work and belief in oneself. And Ben has that, clearly."

While he has yet to provide a comment on his apparent involvement in "The Batman" movie, Ben Affleck has decided to shed light on how he's going to portray the new Batman in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly.

"Batman is basically the American version of Hamlet," Affleck told EW. "We accept that he's played by actors with different interpretations."
