It's been a month since fans witnessed the tragic death of Jon Snow (Kit Harington) in "Game of Thrones" season 5 finale and up until now many can't get over it.

While the death of this beloved character has already been tipped from George R.R. Martin's "A Dance With Dragons" novel, avid fans are still hopefull that he will not suffer the same fate.

And now that he's apparently dead in the HBO show, all eyes are now in the upcoming release date announcement of the sixth book, "Winds of Winter."

There have been an ongoing rumor claiming that the highly acclaimed author is already done with the book following "Game of Thrones" director Jack Bender's statement in Reddit AMA where he claimed that he already read the draft to "Winds of Winter."

The director simply said , "Yes," when asked if he read the novel.

Harington insisted that his character is definitely dead during an interview with Entertainment Weekly saying,

"I've been told I'm dead. I'm dead. I'm not coming back next season. So that's all I can tell you, really," he said.

However, he was caught still sporting long locks that of Jon Snow's, which immediately fueled speculations that he's still coming back.

While it's not been discussed it's most likely that "Winds of Winter" will finally shed light to the fate of the well loved character.

And while "Game of Thrones" season 6 is in development, George R.R. Martin is reportedly trying to rush things with "Winds of Winter" so he could release it ahead of the HBO hit show.

According to the exclusive report of Entertainment Weekly Martin refused to work on "Game of Thrones" season 6 because he needed to concentrate on "Winds of Winter" instead.

"The bestselling author once again will not contribute a script to HBO's 'Game of Thrones' as the production preps for next season. The Thrones author previously penned an episode for seasons 1-4, then opted out of writing for the current fifth season. "

And while there are no announcements yet, fans have started to speculate on what to expect once 'Winds of Winter" hits the shelves.

"Winds of Winter" release date is reportedly going to be announced in George R.R. Matin's blog.
