‘Final Fantasy 7’ HD Remake Coming To Xbox One Says EB Games; Fans Spot ‘FFX,’ ‘Parasite Eve’ Easter Eggs In Trailer

| By

When it was announced at E3 2015, Square Enix said the "Final Fantasy 7" HD remake would come for Sony's PlayStation 4 console first. This implied that the much-anticipated game will make its way to other platforms as well. If an Australian retailer is to be asked, the game is coming to the Xbox One.

EB Games Australia posted a placeholder of the "FF7" HD remake in their website which you can see here. The game is listed for pre-order with a "TBC 2016" release date for $109.95.

Could this listing be considered confirmation that the Square Enix game is indeed headed to Microsoft's gaming console? A fan took it upon himself to ask EB Games about the "FF7" HD remake listing via the KH13 forums, according to Twinfinite.

"They have announced for both consoles, however PS4 will have early access," EB Games Australia replied.

As Twinfinite noted, an official confirmation about a "Final Fantasy 7" HD remake has yet to be made but the listing and the retailer's response "seem to be a sort of step in the conformational direction."

Apart from Tetsuya Nomura being confirmed as the remake's director and his statements about it, not much is known about the upcoming game. In the meantime, some have been scouring the E3 trailer for clues finding Easter eggs in the process.

First up, Attack of the Fanboy said DiipuSurotu of NeoGaf has found an "FFX" reference in the trailer in the form of Auron.

In "Final Fantasy X," Auron was lead character Tidus' caretaker and summoner Yuna's guardian. The sword-wielding badass can allegedly be seen at the 1:16 mark of the trailer.

Another fan claimed to have seen "Parasite Eve's" Aya Brea in the same trailer at around the 20 to 22-second mark.

"The banner, when zoomed in on, contains an image of Aya Brea from the 'Parasite Eve' series, in her standard garb from its latest iteration, 'The 3rd Birthday.' The banner also has the word 'Valentina' on it, which brings to mind 'Final Fantasy VII's' Vincent Valentina, but otherwise the significance is unknown," GameRant wrote.

Easter eggs in the remake's trailer could be just fan service although they could also point to developer's future plans.

The "Final Fantasy 7" HD remake release date isn't expected anytime soon but has been confirmed for the PS4.
