Adam Levine slammed a club, The Roxy, where he used to perform at before his band, Maroon 5, made it big.
It all happened Monday night during a contestant's rendition of a Michelle Branch song. Cassadee Pope sang "Are You Happy Now" which must have brought back memories for Adam Levine who took the opportunity to slam the West Hollywood club.
We used to open for Michelle Branch," Levine told Pope after she finished her performance. "I remember we opened for her at the Roxy, and they didn't even give us a dressing home. I hate the Roxy. I'll never play there again."
Cassadee Pope, who used to be the lead singer of the Florida rock band Hey Monday defended the club. "I love the Roxy," she said.
"Oh, the Roxy is horrible," he responded. "Don't ever go there." When the audience started to chatter, Levine justified his rant. "They screwed us over," he said. "And now they're paying for it."
After the show aired, Michelle Branch weighed in on the debate, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Branch said the club doesn't assign dressing rooms to performers. "I'm sure it wasn't the Roxy's fault," she said. "Most likely my band was given one room and I was given the other per my contract."
Meanwhile, the Roxy gave a sassy reply to Adam Levine's diss. First, they tweeted out: "Ummm, what was that about?" Then they followed up with this picture of their re-done marquee that reads, "Adam Levine Your Dressing Room Is Ready."
