Seeing Oprah Winfrey on a money bill will prove her influence as a one of the world's most influential women. At some point during the Miss USA 2015 pageant, she got her name mentioned by some of the finalists suggesting that she be the new face of the $10 bill.
Recent reports said that treasury officials are planning to replace Alexander Hamilton on the $10 note with the face of an American woman or a group of women. The money is reportedly slated to circulate in 2020, the year that marks the centennial anniversary of women's voting rights.
When the Miss USA 2015 finalists were separately asked who they think should be on the new bill, two of the five finalists thought that Oprah Winfrey should be on the money.
All the five finalists were given this same question posted by a Facebook user: "In the year 2020, a woman will appear on the $10 bill. Which American woman would you like to see on the first printing of the bill and why?"
Answering this, Miss Oklahoma USA Olivia Jordan said she wished that Oprah Winfrey's money bill face will be there, but went on by saying that Harriet Tubman is also an example of an "amazing woman in American history."
Just a few minutes after this answer, Miss Maryland USA Mame Adjei also suggested Oprah Winfrey on the money bill because she thinks she is a great role model.
"She's a person that has transcended so many adversities," she said. "She's an example of someone that's been so steadfast in following her dreams, never letting go and always holding herself accountable for reaching her goals."
The women were placed on headphones so as not to hear the other candidate's answers in the same question.
Several other personalities also wanted Oprah Winfrey's money bill face to appear. Some fans even created edited images of the dollar bill with the talk show host on them.
