"Under the Dome" season 3 so far hasn't shown any major death among its original characters. Four episodes into the third season, the show has only killed one significant player. This happened in the first episode when Big Jim (Dean Norris) was forced to kill Melanie (Grace Victoria Cox) who threatened to kill Julia (Rachel Lefevre).
The story is so far dominated by confusions and manipulation orchestrated by probably the season's big bad Christine Price (Marg Helgenberger), a therapist who helps Chester's Mill residents get by from the aftermath of the dome.
In the upcoming "Under the Dome" season 3 episodes, watch out because at least one major character is going to bid the show goodbye. During the San Diego Comic-Con, executive producer Tim Schlattmann said there will be no more insignificant deaths.
"Sometimes a series can have deaths that don't really mean anything," EP Schlattmann said without further elaborating what "Under the Dome" season 3 episode it will happen. "I think this season, these deaths are really going to matter. It's all going to start to build in tonight's episode and moving forward. Things are going to get bananas."
EP Neal Baer earlier teased Helgenberger's character is the one who will wreak havoc to Chester's Mill. As seen in the latest "Under the Dome" season 3 episode, she upped her ante by manipulating Junior and Joe into working for her. This used to be the job of Big Jim who now is reduced to running away from people who want to experiment on him. Therefore, Christine is Big Jim's match.
"Big Jim [Dean Norris] has really met his match," Shlattmann said. "The thing that makes him such a foe for Christine is he's a narcissist." But their rivalry will give Julia (Rachelle Lefevre) a new appreciation for Big Jim and could be the key to saving Chester's Mill. In truth, the reach Christine has may be much bigger. The fate of "humanity may very well rest on [Colin Ford's Joe]."
The next "Under the Dome" season 3 episode will air on July 16 and is called "Alaska."
"Alaska" - Big Jim and Julia form a tentative alliance to search for proof that will discredit Christine, which leads them to new information about the Dome's capabilities. Meanwhile, when tensions run high in town and threaten Christine's leadership, she puts a plan in play that has deadly consequences, on UNDER THE DOME, Thursday, July 16 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT), on the CBS Television Network.
