Finally Disney has confirmed that one of the upcoming "Star Wars 7" spin off is going to be centered on a young Han Solo movie.
According to Star Wars, the upcoming movie in the anthology will tell the story young Han Solo divulging on details on how he "became the smuggler, thief, and scoundrel whom Luke Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi first encountered in the cantina at Mos Eisley."
Prior to the publication's confirmation, The Hollywood Reported was the one who first reported that "The Lego Movie" directors Christopher Miller and Phil Lord will be helming the upcoming "Star Wars 7" spin off, which is penned by Lawrence and Jon Kasdan.
The highly acclaimed writers have expressed their enthusiasm in working with Miller and Lord saying, "We're so excited to be working with Chris and Phil, who will bring a fresh new dimension to the Star Wars universe," said the Kasdans. "They're two of the smartest, funniest and most original filmmakers around, and the ideal choice to tell the story of Han Solo, one of the coolest characters in the galaxy."
Lucasfilm CEO Kathleen Kennedy, on the other hand, is confident that the team of writers and directors will provide a well deserved Han Solo spin-off movie who will "bring their wit, style, enery and heart" to the project.
"It's not just any filmmaker who can tell the story of such a beloved icon like Han Solo, and I'm excited to say we've found the perfect team to handle the task. Larry and Jon know all there is to know about the character, and Chris and Phil will bring their wit, style, energy and heart to tell Han's story."
Set to hit the cinemas on May 25, 2018 release, the "Star Wars 7" spin off film has yet to reveal its male lead character.
And while Disney nor Lucasfilm has yet to confirm an actor for the role of the young Han Solo, played by award-winning actor Harrison Ford, there's an ongoing rumor linking "Breaking Bad" star Aaron Paul in the role.
Apparently the 35-year-old star is the bookies' favorite, The Guardian reported.
However, the publication mentioned that Solo will most likely around his 20s for the upcoming "Star Wars 7" spin off, thus a younger actor is more fitting for the role.
The Guardian metioned the names of the 25-year-old "Kingsman" actor, Taron Egerton, 21-year-old "Divergent" star Ansel Elgort and the 25-year-old hunk Nicholas Hoult from "X-Men: First Class."
