After three long years of being on hiatus, Green Day is finally woking on a new album.
While the American punk rock band has yet to set an official release date for their new track, there is an ongoing rumor claiming that Green Day will most likely launch their new album next year.
And to pay gratitude to the fans who have helped them earn a Hall of Fame induction, Billie Joe Armstrong is reportedly working not only a new album but a tour as well for the trio.
Apparenlty, the band has already made a "few songs" even before hearing the news of their Hall of Fame induction and getting recognized has only made them work harder.
"There's definitely a great spirit going on," Armstrong told Billboard of their new album. "We've always been pretty charged up. Before we found any of this out, I had already written a few songs and everybody was really excited by them. And then we heard about the Hall of Fame, and we were just blown away."
However, Green Day is reportedly not in a hurry to release their new album despite being "blown away." They just wanted make sure that the new album will be better than their 2012 trilogy, "Uno," "Dos" and "Tres."
"Yeah, I mean, we're going to take our time," he explained. "We're not going to try and pull off some, like, victory lap over this because I definitely want the music to come from a real place and be inspired, not just because we got honored or anything like that, but because we're honoring music. We want to work on them, and we want to make a great album."
In conclusion, Billie Joe Armstrong has complimented his band members for being such great persons and for spending their life with him and with the band.
"Well, even people that would be our contemporaries, a lot of these guys would be in their fifties already. But we started young. This is my high school band, and we just kept going. So there's been a lot of life within the time period that we've been around. We're really fortunate in that way."
