What a time to be alive.
YouTube user Rapture Records made a vinyl record out of an uncooked tortilla and laser cutter, impressing social media users all around.
The best part of this project is the fact that the tortilla record can be eaten when you feel the time is right.
“They are edible,” stated Rapture Records, according to TIME.
“Just taste rather burnt.”
Rapture Records, who is also known as UpgradeTech in the world of Reddit, was inspired by a viral YouTube video showing a tortilla “playing” the song “Jarabe Tapatio,” according to The Huffington Post.
“I thought I could do that video one better,” the social media user wrote on Reddit.
“I was already familiar with laser cutting records at 78 rpm on acrylic for use in gramophones. I decided to see if I could make it work on an actual tortilla.”
For those who want to try this in the future, using an uncooked tortilla reportedly works best as “they are the flattest.” Although the sound quality isn’t the best, hopefully further testing will perfect the art of tortilla record making.
Despite the awe the clip has garnered, it has also brought on some confusion among social media users.
“I don’t even…How do you… Whatever. I’m hungry now,” commented YouTube user John Pyper.
