How far "Scandal" will be when the show returns for its fifth season? Season 4 ended with Papa Pope (Joe Morton) landing in jail.
However, when "Scandal" season 4 release date comes, do not expect it to be that far from the events that transpired in the fourth season. They may be moving on from that storyline but not that far. Proof to that is the promotion of one guest star into a series regular.
TV Line reported Cornelius Smith Jr, who appeared in two episodes of season 4, is now a series regular in "Scandal" season 5. The website wrote,
"Cornelius Smith Jr.'s acting career has taken a Scandalous turn. TVLine has learned exclusively that the actor is not only set to reprise his role as activist Marcus Walker in Season 5, but he'll do so as a full-fledged series regular.
The All My Children alum previously appeared in two Season 4 episodes of Shonda Rhimes' D.C.-based drama, most notably the powerful Ferguson-esque March 5 outing "The Lawn Chair." Details on Smith's return - including his first episode back - are being kept under wraps."
"Scandal" season 4 release date is September and except from that, nothing has really come out about the ABC drama. Joe Morton who plays Rowan Pope, the father of lead character Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington), said fans should just expect the unexpected.
"Shonda doesn't let us know until we actually sit down at a table read. So, we really don't know. There's no kind of, 'here's what we're going to be doing next season' kind of thing. On the surface, it looks like given who Rowan / Eli is, to be in jail for extortion or for embezzlement seems like something that might be easy for him to get out of, but we'll see. Who knows what will come out of the mind of Shonda Rhimes."
Wait for more scoop before "Scandal" season 4 release date comes.
