"America's Next Top Model" has never been this comic as the first official teaser is released showing some moments of fun and irony that viewers have to look forward to. With previous cycles being filled with tension, are fans going to see something new?
The teaser of "America's Next Top Model" Cycle 22 showed the first parts of the season when the judges welcome aspiring models in a televised "go-see" or audition, and many of the scenes are funny enough to earn speculations that the show might feature more comedy than serious stuff.
The video had a voice-over narrator saying that the models in this year's season are all about humility and honesty. Watching the video yourself, you would know that this narration is trying to drive home something ironic.
As the words "humility" was shown on screen, there was a male model shaking his behind in front of other models, and another aspirant who was heard saying, "I can get any [girl] I want."
Someone also came in the auditions wearing what seemed to be a "royal costume" with a crown and a gown, but the gown was shown to be a graduation attire.
"I'm so confused 'coz it's a king and it's a graduation hat," Tyra Banks quipped in the "America's Next Top Model" Cycle 22 teaser.
But more than the comic acts, the teaser also revealed that something striking is about to happen with their usage of the yellow shade in the promotional posters and judge Miss J wearing a yellow outfit.
A total of 14 contestants is set to compete on "America's Next Top Model" Cycle 22, including an Asian male contestant, a deaf model and a beauty queen.
The winner of "America's Next Top Model" Cycle 22 will bring home prizes that include $100,000 from Zappos Couture, becoming the face of their 2016 brand, earning a fashion spread in "Nylon" magazine and a modeling contract with Next Management.
