Disney Prepping 'Jurassic World' Star Chris Pratt For 'Indiana Jones 5' Movie? Harrison Ford Not Coming Back?

| By

After acquiring Lucasfilm entertainment, Disney has been really busy with the "Star Wars" franchise.

However, there have been reports claiming that the classic adventure franchise "Indiana Jones," starred by Harrison Ford is going to be revived as well.

Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy apparently confirmed the news in an interview with Vanity Fair.

"When it will happen, I'm not quite sure," Kennedy told Vanity Fair of the "Indiana Jones 5" movie. "We haven't started working on a script yet, but we are talking about it."

And while everything is still in its early stages of development, the name of Chris Pratt has been constantly been involved with the fifth sequel to the adventure-pack franchise.

Apparently, the successful portrayal of his role in "Jurassic World" has impressed Disney Execs and are now eyeing on him to replace Harrison Ford to play the new Indy.

Apparently, Disney is determined to pursue with the franchise even further that they needed an actor who can potentially portray the role of Indy for a long time.

"Regarding Harrison Ford, two more Indiana Jones features are in the negotiation stages as per Ford's contract clause on 'Star Wars,' which is the primary reason he didn't 'publicly' or 'privately' commit, or so I'm told," a source told MarketSaw back in February last year.

A source of Showbizspy added that "Disney is looking at its long-term options for the 'Indiana Jones' franchise. "They feel that the series has huge potential on many levels, starting with the films leading to other spin-offs like games which can generate more money than movies."

However, according to Rolling Stone reported that Harrison Ford "hasn't ruled out returning to the 'Indiana Jones' franchise."

Meanwhile, "Jurassic World" star Chris Pratt has been playing coy about his involvement with "Indiana Jones 5" despite the rampant rumors.

In his previous appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live," the 35-year-old actor was questioned about his involvement with movie.

"Interesting...I don't remember going over that....I don't know, that's....this movies is...to get to your question, Jurassic World opens on June 12," he answered.

Furthermore, he teased that he could have been actually given a call, but unfortunately missed it.

"Well, I have no answer to it, I don't know," he quipped. "I mean, no one has....I missed a phone call the other day, unknown number. I hope it wasn't him."

Pratt was previously questioned about his involvement with "Indiana Jones 5" in a previous encounter with TMZ.

"We can't assume it's confirmed yet, but you are in talks right?" TMZ cameraman asked Pratt.

"I do...No. That's the problem... I don't know, I might be, I just got back from the woods killing a bunch of stuff," he confusedly answered the question.
