Wonder performed a tribute song at the 40th AMAs to commemorate the ceremony's late creator.
Clark created the AMAs for the ABC with a model that was and still is, based on nominations according to sales figures and the amount of airtime musicians received across all media platforms, instead of votes from entertainment industry professionals like with the Grammys.
