"Until Dawn" recently rumored to feature a multiplayer mode which supports up to 2-12 players as listed on a press release by PlayStation Asia, Siliconera reported.
But in a separate report of VideoGamer, a Sony executive confirmed that the press release was listed on PlayStation Asia by error.
"A 2-12 player multiplayer mode for Until Dawn was listed by PlayStation Asia in error, an SCEE representative has confirmed to VideoGamer.com."
Meanwhile, ESRB recently rated the game "M" which revealed some details to the game as "Blood and Gore, Intense Violence, Sexual Themes, Strong Language "With this rating the game should only be played by 17 years old and above, Attack of the Fanboy reported.

"This is a survival-horror adventure game in which players help eight friends survive a serial killer at a mountain retreat. As players progress through the game, they explore the fully interactive environments, choosing a variety of action/decision-paths via on-screen prompts. Some choices can lead to depictions of intense violence and/or gore: characters shot in the head; characters cut in half by a saw blade; characters disemboweled or decapitated by a creature; a character forced to cut off segments of his fingers.
"Large blood-splatter effects occur frequently as characters are killed or injured; some sequences depict blood stains in the environment and around corpses. The game includes some sexual material: dialogue that contains sexual remarks (e.g., "Let's party like we're f**king porn stars and make this one trip we will never forget" and 'I mean if you're not gonna bang her...maybe Mike'll take up the case."); a character looking at various sexual positions in a Kama Sutra book; a woman performing a striptease for a man, removing her clothes down to her undergarments. The words "f**k," "sh*t," and "d*ck" are heard in dialogue."
"Until Dawn" will be released on August 25 exclusively for PS4 console owners. PlayStation Asia already confirmed that the Chinese+English version will hit store shelves on the same date for HK$398.
PlayStation Asia also added that customers who will pre-order the game at Ani-Com 2015 from 24th to 28th July will receive an "Until Dawn" pre-order pack, which includes an "Until Dawn" Steelbook and an "Anicom Exclusive PlayStation® Key Chain", while stocks last.
While online and pre-order in person at PlayStation®Platinum Shops or Sony Stores starts on July 28. Customers who pre-ordered the game will get an "Until Dawn" Steelbook as a pre-order premium.
