"They have been hooking up," a source reportedly told US Weekly back then, adding that they opted to keep their relationship casual.
However, recent reports suggested that Olsen just used him to hide her real relationship with another colleague all together!
The National Enquirer (via The Hollywood Gossip) reportedly talked to a source that claimed the truth about Olsen's supposed relationship with Hiddleston. According to the insider, the Marvel star isn't dating the villain Loki but Captain America!
The magazine further claimed that Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen's little star only used the British heartthrob as a shield to keep her relationship with Chris Evans on the down low.
"Chris and Lizzie are definitely involved in some kind of ultra-secret romance that's being kept under wraps while they shoot," the source reportedly said. "The attraction between them has been there from day one."
The reason for the elaborate scheme that involved "Crimson Peak" star Tom Hiddleston? Evans reportedly didn't want his "womanizing becoming public".
"He's protecting his image, and will bend over backwards to keep things quiet!" said source continued.
Hollywood Life added that the alleged couple dated secretly when they shot "Captain America: Civil War" after meeting on the set of "Avengers: Age Of Ultron".
Meanwhile, "Crimson Peak" star Tom Hiddleston and Elizabeth Olsen will be seeing each other again later this year.
Variety recently reported that the Hank Williams biopic, "I Saw The Light", which stars both Hiddleston and Olsen as husband and wife, will be premiering in cinemas on Nov. 27.
Fans will get to see the Internet darling not only taking on an American accent but singing the country legend's songs in the movie as well.
