'The Big Bang Theory' Flash Mob Video Surprises Audience [VIDEO]

| By

"The Big Bang Theory" is TV's hottest sitcom with an average 19 million viewers each week, and the cast members put on a surprise flash mob of Carly Rae Jepsen "Call Me Maybe" while filming as a treat to their live studio audience.

CBS posted the event on its YouTube page Thursday. The flash mob idea came from lead actress, Kaley Cuoco, who plays Penny in the comedy. She wrote on her Facebook page, "Yes, my dream to have a live, full out, dance routine for the world to see, has finally happened." She offered her thanks to the cast and crew, and noted that her sister choreographed the routine.

During the flash mob, Jim Parsons, who stars as the geeky but awkward Sheldon, stayed in character and didn't participate in the flash mob, but stood in awe of what was taking place around him.
