"Sherlock" fans rejoiced when lead star Benedict Cumberbatch and his wife Sophie Hunter welcomed their first child last June! The reason for celebrations was doubled since the Academy Award-nominated actor received a CBE for Queen Elizabeth's birthday honors list right before his son's birth.
"Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter are delighted to announce the arrival of their beautiful son," a representative for the couple announced last June, asking everyone to "respect the family's privacy during these next few precious weeks."
And it seems those precious weeks were great for the couple, even though the first few weeks of becoming parents are pretty exhausting and draining.
After three weeks of beginning their new roles as parents, Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter finally stepped out together for a date night! And Just Jared thinks they look "glowing" as new parents. Does parenting suit them?
They were spotted at the Serperntine Summer Ball in Kensington Gardens on Thursday, according to Daily Mail. Dressed in a navy blue dress, Hunter captured all of her husband's attention at the event. She also seems to be back to her pre-baby body, looking very slim and pretty.
On the other hand, "The Imitation Game" star couldn't wipe the huge smile on his face as he kept his wife close to him during the party.
Despite finally stepping out for a night out together, however, the couple still refrained from sharing any detail about their son. Not even a name was mentioned, as the "Sherlock" star tended to keep his personal life as private as possible.
Cumberbatch is currently preparing for his lead role in Shakespeare's great tragedy, "Hamlet", at the Barbican Centre this August. His other half won't just be a housewife either. It was reported last April that she will be working on Benjamin Britten's "Phaedra", to be staged at the Necarne Castle in Northern Ireland from July 3 to August 3.
Hopefully, the next time Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter step out for a stroll, they'll be bringing their little one with them, too!
