The full "Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice" cast are yet to be seen on print and videos. So far, the only time fans got to have a glimpse of Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill is through a more than two minutes of teaser trailer released months ago. There is not much detail what kind of Batman Affleck will be portraying and this pains fans especially those who opposed his selection.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly for the latest issue of their magazine, Ben Affleck finally shed some light about the new Batman. The lead "Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice" cast said his version of the Gotham City savior is different fromwhat Christian Bale did in "The Dark Knight" trilogy.
"Batman is basically the American version of Hamlet," Affleck told EW. "We accept that he's played by actors with different interpretations."
Aside from that, "BvS: Dawn of Justice" caped crusader is someone who is already on the tail end of his career, pretty much like the one in the comic book "The Dark Knight Rises" where most of the elements are expected to be based from.
"He's at the end of his run and maybe the end of his life. There's this sort of world-weariness to it," the "Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice" cast added.
This will be the second time Ben Affleck, who just split with wife Jennifer Garner after 10 years of marriage, will play a superhero. "Daredevil" was a bomb critically and Affleck is aware of that. For BvS, he is hoping for a different result.
"Daredevil didn't work, at all. If I wanted to go viral I would be less polite," says the actor. "That was before people realized you could make these movies and make them well. There was a cynical sense of 'Put a red leather outfit on a guy, have him run around, hunt some bad guys, and cash the check.'"
"They really learned how to make this stuff work," he says. "Good is the new bad."
Aside from Affleck and Cavill, other part of "Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice" cast are Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, and Jason Momoa as Aquaman. The film is directed by "Man of Steel's" Zack Snyder and will hit big screen on March 25, 2016.
