"Lucifer" TV series premiere is not yet discussed, revealed, or anything and yet the upcoming show from Fox is already making big changes in its cast line-up.
Deadline reported Nicholas Gonzalez, who played Dan and shot the pilot episode, will be replaced by Kevin Alejandro. Dan is a Los Angeles Police Department detective who despise Lucifer (Tom Ellis) because of the latter's connection to his wife and daughter. The entertainment website wrote:
"Kevin Alejandro (True Blood, Arrow) has been cast as a series regular on Fox's comic book midseason drama Lucifer. He replaces Nicholas Gonzalez who played the role in the pilot, written by Tom Kapinos and directed by Len Wiseman."
The TV series based on the comic book character Neil Gaiman created for "The Sandman" series has been getting a lot of unsolicited publicity lately. There is no "Lucifer" TV series premiere date yet but it already caught the attention of TV viewers.
Last month, religious group One Million Moms launched a petition and urged Fox to ax the show for disrespecting Christianity. The group wrote:
"FOX has plans in 2016 to air "Lucifer," a new series which will glorify Satan as a caring, likable person in human flesh.
The series will focus on Lucifer portrayed as a good guy, "who is bored and unhappy as the Lord of Hell." He resigns his throne, abandons his kingdom and retires to Los Angeles, where he gets his kicks helping the LAPD punish criminals.
At the same time, God's emissary, the angel Amenadiel, has been sent to Los Angeles to convince Lucifer to return to the underworld. Previews of the pilot episode depict graphic acts of violence, a nightclub featuring scantily-clad women and a demon."
"Lucifer" TV series made a louder noise when a host from Fox News, the network's division, said she will not watch the comic book show.
"I mean look, people are going to put what they want out there on television. That's a separate division from Fox News. Personally, I wouldn't watch something like that," Fox News Channel's Kimberly Guilfoyle tells Newsmax TV during a visit to the "The Steve Malzberg Show."
