Upcoming Xiaomi Mi 5’s Leaked Specs Look Impressive; Confirmed To Be The First Flagship To Feature Qualcomm Snapdragon 820

The leaked specs of the upcoming Xiaomi Mi5 show a powerful smartphone is on its way as Xiaomi is yet to introduce its latest innovation through the upcoming flagship.

Biometric scanners have been the new trend on high-end phones. And like any other flagship today, the Xiaomi Mi5 will be armed with the same feature, and will be the first flagship from the company to feature a fingerprint sensor which was developed by the Chinese phone manufacturer, according to Mobipicker

After the many issues that plagued the Snapdragon 810, Qualcomm recently announced its upgrade version the Snapdragon 820. The report from the tech publication went on to claim that it was the first upcoming flagship that has been confirmed to run on the unreleased Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 and will be supported by a higher 4GB of RAM. While it will offer more room for storage with a 16GB or 64GB of an onboard storage. Its internal memory can be expanded too, but the maximum external storage capacity was not mentioned. Moreover, Xiaomi has been reportedly partnered with Android Open Kang Project (AOKP) team for its upcoming MIUI 7 custom user interface based on Android 5.1 Lollipop, which will debut on the Xiaomi Mi5.

The MIUI 7 will also bring a different take on the Android UI and "will evolve with the user and after a few months' time spent with the ROM each user get a different and personalised version in accordance with the user's needs," India Today added.

The Xioami Mi5, codenamed Libra, will be packing a 5.3-inch display with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels with a pixel density of 554ppi. The smartphone will be equipped with a 3,030mAh battery which can power up the phone for a longer usage.

On the camera side, it will sport a 16MP "flip side" camera, and a 6MP front snapper.

As for its release date, the leaked Xiaomi roadmap revealed that the Xiaomi Mi5 will released some time in November this year. (via IB Times)
