Longtime pals Scott and Stiles are headed to a rocky road on "Teen Wolf" Season 5, as their friendship will be tested in a way the series has never done before, said creator Jeff Davis.
"Teen Wolf" Season 5 creator Davis recently spoke to The Hollywood Reporter and said that the current season is "a trying one for Scott and Stiles" who are set to go through tough times as friends.
"One of the things we wanted to do most this season was test their friendships in a way we've never done before, and actually test Scott's role as a leader," he said in the report. "One of the themes of this season is failure of leadership, whether Scott can survive that."
Among the causes of this alleged end of friendship on "Teen Wolf" Season 5 is due to the arrival of the new enemies called the Dread Doctors, the report said. Fans may be expecting some "bromance" between Scott and Stiles but unfortunately, with these revelations by Davis, can this still happen?
"The new villains are going to cause a lot of conflict, so it's going to be hard for them," Davis pointed out. "One of the things we really wanted to do this season was really stretch their relationship and we kind of consider it a kind of romance - a bromance."
He emphasized in the report that a breakup between Stiles and Scott is possible and there are various factors to contribute to this.
"We're going to see how secrets and these minor betrayals get in the way of friendships, but these bad guys will definitely play a part of it as well," he added.
Third episode teaser released
Meanwhile, the teaser for the third episode of "Teen Wolf" Season 5 which will air next week has been released.
The synopsis said Scott is tracking a new shapeshifter that is threatening Stiles. As Scott worries about the dad of Stiles, Malia is expected to get one step closer in her quest for the Desert Wolf as she tries to find her mother.
The episode summary also showed Tracy still in her nightmare as she begins attacking people, which makes it less difficult for the Dread Doctors to possess her.
