While his marriage to his equally famous wife Jennifer Garner ended, Ben Affleck's career seems to be on a roll.
The "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" star who recently released a joint statement with Garner of their divorce is reportedly going to direct and star in Warner Bros. planned standalone "The Batman" movie.
His casting as the new Dark Knight received mixed reactions from fans and critics alike, while some did not care, purist believed that he's not fitted for the role.
However, Warner Bros. thinks otherwise. While fans continue to debate on Affleck's casting, the giant studio company together with DC Entertainment have decided to strengthen the DC Cinematic Universe by pursuing with a solo "Batman" movie.
Latino-Review claimed that "The Batman" will not only be starred by Ben Affleck but it will also be directed by him.
The 42-year-old Hollywood hunk is reportedly going to be joined by Chris Terrio, the writer of "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" movie.
"The Batman" is reportedly slated for November 2018 release date, while Warner Bros. has yet to announce an official statement to this claim, if true it will go toe-to-toe with Marvel's "Captain Marvel" movie.
It will also go between the releases of "The Justice League Part 1" in 2017 and Part 2 in 2019.
And while very few details about the standalone film have been revealed, IB Times noted that the plot will most likely be linked to DC Cinematic Universe.
"It's safe to assume that the film's plot might be strongly linked to the overall DC Cinematic Universe, unless the makers decide to set the story in a different time period," the publication reported.
In other Batman Ben Affleck news, Henry Cavill who stars as Superman opposite Affleck in "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" movie assured fans that there's nothing to be worried about Affleck's casting.
"I'm sure he'll be fantastic above all else," "Man of Steel" star Henry Cavill, told Total Film.
"And as a filmmaker, he's got his own style, you know. He's not copying anyone else. And he's also sort of being tenacious in his career. He's had ups followed by downs and now he's very up again, and I think that requires and shows a very special strength of character. And it's something which I enjoy working with because jobs like this require strength of character, they require a dedication to the work and belief in oneself. And Ben has that, clearly."
