Los Angeles Lakers has three draft picks for 2015 which was held last week. One is no. 2 in which they used to pick point guard D'Angelo Russell.
The other two are no. 27 and no. 34 that got them Larry Nance Jr and Anthony Brown, respectively. Basically, it should be Russell who is making the loud buzz. However, Nance is the one making the louder noise, but for the wrong reasons.
Long before applying for the NBA draft, the 22-year old out of Wyoming was just a fan of the game. He is also used social media a lot. One of his Twitter posts is something that made it difficult for him to realize there is a possibility he will play with Los Angeles Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant.
Three years ago, Nance sent out a tweet about Kobe Bryant that includes a rapist hashtag. This is in reference to the scandal that the Black Mamba got into in 2003.
After Los Angeles Lakers drafted him, the first thing Nance thought about was his tweet about Kobe Bryant in 2012. He was so embarrassed by it he almost puked.
“About 24 hours went past when I just felt like I was going to throw up,” Nance said. “Sick to my stomach. Just embarrassed in myself. I felt so bad about what I had said, and I just wanted to apologize to him right away.”
The new Los Angeles Lakers draftee does not have to worry that much though as Kobe Bryant said it is already under the water now.
“The kid figured it out himself,” Bryant said in an interview with ESPN last week. “He’s a kid, man. He actually sent me a great message [Friday], which is really funny. I looked at it [the message], and it was like, ‘This is when you know it’s about time to hang these things up, when your teammate writes you, Hi, Mr. Bryant.’
“I was like, ‘What the f—?’ But it was really nice and apologetic about what had happened. I said, ‘Dude, listen. We’ve all said things and done things that we regret and wish we could take back. It’s water under the bridge, man. Welcome to the team.’ He writes back, ‘Thank you, sir.’”
