Neil Gaiman has expressed confidence for the upcoming TV series "American Gods" based on his novel of the same name. Now, it is fans who can feel optimistic about the upcoming Starz show as designated showrunner Bryan Fuller revealed the seasoned English writer will be writing for at least two episodes.
"We are cranking away. We've got the first two scripts written already," Fuller said. "It's wonderful to be working with Neil Gaiman."
"Neil Gaiman is going to be writing episodes of the show," he said. "It's going to have scope, as it should."
In an interview with Den of Geek last May, Bryan Fuller said script for the first two episodes of "American Gods" TV series have been completed and the best thing about is the script is written with the help of some of the world's best illustrators.
"The first two scripts have been written and we have been working with illustrators designing the world," he said. "so we've got these fantastic illustrations of Jack's Crocodile Bar, the Bone Orchard and Zorya's rooftop with all the telescopes looking up at the bear constellation."
Warning to fans though, Fuller added "American Gods" TV series will have some sequences that are not read on the book.
"There are also some new things that are going to be unique to the series and weren't in the book," he continued. "We are going to do a visual presentation to Starz, who are very happy with the two scripts that they received, and then we go from there."
On the question of who the main characters in "American Gods" TV series will be, Fuller said they will be revealed in the Comic-Con this month.
"That's his plan. He's saying 'I don't want to make any casting announcements, I want to announce the cast in full when they walk out on stage at a Comic-Con.'"
"American Gods" TV series release date is yet to be revealed.
