Earlier this month, many noticed how "Marvel's Jessica Jones" Netflix series has dropped the "AKA" from its title. No apparent reason was given for the change although it has been confirmed as official.
ComicBook.com has reportedly reached out to Marvel and confirmed that the Krysten Ritter-led series has indeed undergone a title change. From now on, the series is simply known as "Marvel's Jessica Jones."
According to ScreenCrush, the series' synopsis reads:
"After a tragic ending to her short-lived super hero stint, Jessica Jones is rebuilding her personal life and career as a detective who gets pulled into cases involving people with extraordinary abilities in New York City."
Apart from Ritter in the titular role, "Marvel's Jessica Jones" Netflix series cast includes Mike Colter as Luke Cage, "Doctor Who's" David Tennant as villain Zebediah Kilgrave/Purple Man, Carrie-Ann Moss as Harper and Rachael Taylor as Patsy Walker/Hellcat. Also in recurring roles are Eka Darville as Jessica's neighbor, Wil Traval as a police officer and Erin Moriarty as a client.
Apart from them however, a "Daredevil" fan favorite may also appear in the series.
Rosario Dawson, who plays Nurse Claire Temple in the Charlie Cox-starred series, spoke to MTV recently about the prospects of her character appearing in other Marvel-Netflix series and noted how different she is from the one in the comics.
"Even just having Night Nurse and Claire Temple come together was already changing the Marvel Universe. So it just feels like, A) I finally get to join Marvel. I get to do it in a way that's completely altering the universe, which is awesome. And then, B) I have no idea where it's going to go, because here I was having a fling with Matt Murdock, and now Luke Cage is coming up, and Jessica Jones."
As for any "Daredevil" and "Jessica Jones" crossovers, Dawson said she doesn't have any details.
"I have no idea how they're wanting me to come back or in which way, shape or form but it's nice to know that I've got a character who does kind of string everyone together and bring all those worlds together."
Production for "Marvel's Jessica Jones" Netflix series has already started in New York City in February 2015. It is expected to premiere later this year.
