While there have been rumors claiming that The 1975 is breaking up, the English indie rock back surprises fans with a new album and tour announcement.
The 1975 frontman, Matthew Healy wrote a lengthy letter to the avid fans of the band claiming that they are going to release a new album and will be touring soon as well.

"Dear friends of The 1975,
"I/We/The 1975 are currently in production of our second full length record. Its creation signifies the end of the most inspiring and challenging time that we've ever shared as friends and as artists. We simply couldn't of [sic] imagined connecting with as many people as we have since the release of our debut in 2013.
"We have toured the world playing over 25,000 shows in 400 different countries (that's a slight exaggeration but it was a lot) and we have had the privilege of encountering the countless faces that make up our incredibly loyal and ebulliently peculiar fan-base. It is that loyalty that inspired me to write this letter, scrappy as it may be.
"This is the beginning of a new chapter for The 1975. Our new record signifies the start of a new world for us, a more colourful world, a less colourful world. We want to play shows, we want a real shared experience, we want to play HUGE shows that we never thought were possible. We want to play sets at festivals that people talk about for ages cos it was fun and it was music and the weather was perfect and we want to be honest otherwise what's the f***ing point?
"So the best way to start is the way we did before - in venues we have loved and places that feel intimate enough to do a proper new show. With people who really want to be there. Or need to be there in some extreme cases.
"We have decided to start touring again this year, November 2015. Due to the size of the venues that we feel are appropriate for this particular tour and taking into consideration the humbling dedication that I have felt from a lot of our fans I predict that only the most dedicated will end up with tickets. This can only be remedied by our reciprocated dedication to playing more and more shows. I'll see you soon with more music and drama and you've known the title all along."
Rumors of their breakup actually started when the band decided to post some cryptic messages in their official Facebook account claiming that they're "gone."
"We can't simply go on forever - always staying the same, never evolving," it read.
"So we must leave, with a parting "We love you" - we are already gone. Thank you. The 1975."
As it turned out, the Manchester formed band's postings were just a gimmick to tease fans of their new album and tour.
And while Healy did not mention the release date of their new album in his letter to fans, his previous interview with Alternative Press claimed that it will most likely happen in September in accordance to their 16-date tour that will reportedly kick off in Liverpool with a homecoming finale at Manchester Academy on Nov. 28, 2015.
"[The goal is to] put out an album two years to the day when we put out the last one -- or at least as close as we can get," the English musician said. "So it will come out on a Monday (Tuesday in the U.S.) in September of 2015."
