‘Jane The Virgin’ Season 2 Premiere Date Announced! Can The ‘Golden Globe’ Nominee Win At The Emmy’s?

| By

"Jane The Virgin" season 2 will rule over Mondays once again this Fall! According to TV.com, the CW already released its schedule for their Fall lineup.

The Golden Globe nominated series will hold the fort on Mondays, starting Oct. 19. It will also be joined by new comedy series "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" with "The Originals" transferred to a Thursday showing.

"Jane The Virgin" proved to be a breakout series last year, getting recognized by the Golden Globes and other award-giving bodies. Its main star, Gina Rodriguez also won a trophy for the Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical category. She won a People's Choice Award for her role as Jane Villanueva in the dramedy as well. Will she be successful this year, too?

According to Bustle, Rodriguez definitely deserves an Emmy Award. For one thing, she's a certified talented actress, receiving her Bachelor's Degree in the prestigious NYU Tisch School of the Arts. She amazed critics for her performance not just in "Jane The Virgin" but in her breakout film, "Filly Brown" as well.

Like her TV counterpart, the 30-year-old actress also serves as an inspiration to Latinas everywhere. Who wouldn't want to hear another empowering and heartwarming speech just like what she did at the Golden Globes?

However, according to her recent interview with Time Magazine, she's actually "terrified" about the Emmy buzz she's getting. Of course, she would definitely "love it" for herself, for the CW and for "all the people that believed in us."

"I'm terrified in a great way. The fact that people are even considering me is outrageous. I just feel like I can't ask for anything more. I would love it," she told the magazine.

She also added, "What is beautiful is that I get to continue to act, and I'm so grateful for August 21st, when I get to go to season two. I feel like you have to keep your head down, prayers up."

Ever the humble girl, Rodriguez doesn't credit whatever future awards she get solely on her performance.

"It's beyond me and so much bigger than myself. The network and studios are so supportive of me, of my career-I owe them everything," she continued.

Do you think "Jane The Virgin" season 2 can get an Emmy award next year?
