With its expected September release date arriving soon, rumors about Samsung's next-gen flagship phablet handset have been popping up of late. Alleged case renders offer a preview of the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 specs and design - which may ruffle a few feathers.
French website NowhereElese.fr, known in the industry for their accurate smartphone leaks, posted alleged case renders of the upcoming Galaxy Note 5.
"Apart from being speculated as another powerhouse device, the leaked render of the Note 5's case suggests that it will bear the rugged design akin to its cousins from the Active lineup," Tech Times wrote.
The images show that the phablet's cutout for its S-Pen stylus is at the bottom. Ports and buttons can be found at the bottom and sides while the top remains bare. The device's loudspeakers appear to have migrated to the bottom, a departure from its rear mounting in older Note devices.
Like the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge, the Note 5's flash has also been moved beside its camera, according to the leaked images.
"This makes the Note 5 a bit similar to the LG G4 and HTC One M9 as far as the camera lens and flash positioning is concerned."
A Forbes report thinks the device "mimics almost all the major design changes introduced with the Galaxy S6" but couldn't help worrying about Samsung Galaxy Note 5 specs. A glass back may do wonders for the device's design but this means expandable storage and a removable battery would have to go.
Primarily known for being productivity devices with a "hardcore fanbase," the website thinks the omission could "cause universal outcry."
Reportedly, the Galaxy Note 5 will come with a larger 4,100mAh battery which could silence the clamor for a removable battery. For storage, the upcoming phablet may come with a 128GB model although this will be a costly option.
Keep in mind though that these are still rumors. Samsung Galaxy Note 5 specs should be confirmed in the days leading up to its expected September release date.
