In a recent report by website Mashable, "Pretty Girls" singer Britney Spears is said to be the "more logical choice" to perform at the 50th anniversary of Super Bowl, after performing in several Super Bowls in the past.
The report said Britney Spears has been rumoured to headline the 2016 Super Bowl since her commercial was released during this year's event, showing the singer wearing a football uniform.
Mashable added that Britney Spears has performed at 15 Super Bowl events in the past, not to mention being a long-time Pepsi advocate.
Not only is Britney Spears being eyed as the performer, country singer Taylor Swift is also rumoured to perform and her team reportedly is working on the "final details."
"Her main holdup is performing the year after Katy Perry did it, but she also feels it's the right way to close out the '1989' chapter of her career," a source told Radar Online.
Taylor Swift and Katy Perry are reportedly in the middle of an on-going rivalry and feud. The latter performed at the Super Bowl last year, all glammed up while dressing up her back-up dancers in Taylor's distinct style.
The report said the 25-year-old "Bad Blood" singer has already decided who he director will be, with a source saying, "She's just waiting on financials from the NFL before singing on the dotted line."
Mashable said Britney Spears and Taylor Swift are both known to perform elaborate shows "ideal for a stadium crowd for the massive TV audience that the Super Bowl routinely attracts."
Official announcements will reportedly arrive around September at the earliest, and should any of these two singers are chosen, they will be included in the star-studded line-up of musicians who have performed at the Super Bowl events, including Katy Perry, Beyonce, Madonna and Bruno Mars.
