'Transformers 4': New Logo and Mark Wahlberg Joins Cast

| By

"Transformers 4" announced Mark Wahlberg will join the action movie franchise and the movie has a new logo.

"Transformers 4" director Michael Bay announced on his website website on Thursday that after teaming up with the star for the upcoming "Pain and Gain," the two will continue their working relationship.

"Mark is awesome. We had a blast working on 'Pain and Gain' and I'm so fired up to be back working with him," Michael said in a statement. "An actor of his caliber is the perfect guy to re-invigorate the franchise and carry on the Transformers' legacy."

The Transformers sequel, planned to debut June 27, 2014, also has a sleek new logo based on the Decepticon insignia. Last week, the director denied rumors that he was looking to have Wahlberg take over the blockbuster robot franchise from Shia Labeouf, and said he was considering him for another film - not in the Transformers franchise.

Bay added a hat tip to fans on the Web: "Let's say that very internet chatter gave me some ideas...so I'm here to say thanks internet chatter."

Tart comments on Entertainment Weekly included Gerry's "You're welcome, Michael Bay. Now please, stop making these." Heather added, "I don't even like these movies but I'll go see this one just for Mark!"

"Pain and Gain" will hit theaters on April 26, 2013. "Transformers 4" will be out in 2014.
