Nothing was really solved in "Suits" season 4 episode one, at least on Harvey Specter's mess with Donna Paulsen. The premiere episode of the legal drama's fourth run picked up shortly from where it left off in the third season wherein Harvey (Gabriel Macht) had a fallout with long-time assistant and very close friend Donna (Sarah Rafferty).
By the end of the episode, it seems Harvey has decided to finally give it a rest. That it is over between him and Donna.
"Suits" season 4 episode one also introduced a new character. Dr. Paula Agard (Christina Cole) has the task of helping Harvey get over his recent ordeal.
The suave lawyer from Pearson-Spector firm is having panic attacks and Agard is making sure he remains fit mentally and physically through regular sessions.
Harvey has a record of getting intimate with women he has worked with. Will Dr. Agard be added to the list? She is beautiful, smart, and reliable, definitely the characteristics that can capture Harvey's heart.
"Suits" executive producer Aaron Korsh said Christina Cole will have more appearance in the show.
"He will have more visits with her throughout the season. ... We wanted to stylize his reason of being there and stylize his anxiety. And it's got to be major for him, not just "I wanna examine myself," and it can't be over after one [episode]," Korsh told TV Guide in an interview held shortly after the airing of "Suits" season 4 episode one.
As for Dr. Agard potentially becoming Harvey's new love interest, here is what he said.
"[Laughs] I'm not gonna answer that question. But I will say ... we looked at a wide variety of actresses and ages for the role. ... Christina Cole's an excellent actress and had actually read for Rachel Zane. She had an American accent and I remember meeting her and she had a British accent. We didn't think she was perfect for that role, but she is for this. It just brings a different dynamic to have someone different and a peer of his in the same age range and give a feeling of something interesting, whether or not anything happens with them. That being said, it's also a question of whether Harvey is ready for a relationship -- with her, Donna or anyone -- and right now he probably isn't."
