While "Ghost in the Shell" anime movie was already released in Japan last June 20, U.S. fans have yet to see it.
And to help market the movie in the western shores, a new extended trailer has been released.
However, the 12-minute extended trailer for "Ghost in the Shell" movie has no English subtitle yet, still fans would finally get to see their beloved Motoko Kusanagi battle it out with the bad guys.
Watch it below:
According to Forbes, Toho's animation "is nicely done and retains a good sense of kineticism but the shading is rather flat. Admittedly this is an issue in most modern anime but it does feel rather overt here."
The sci-fi crime fighting anime which gained popularity all over the world is reportedly going to delve in the characters' origin.
According to Japanese Times, instead of going further into the future "Ghost in The Shell" movie will feature the earliest point in Kusanagi's life, back when she's not yet a cyborg, where she still had feelings.
"The film's plot focuses on the formation of the Kokaku Kido Tai and features Kusanagi assembling the team to investigate the assassination of the prime minister. "
Here is the official synopsis of "Ghost in the Shell" movie:
"In this Japanese animation, cyborg federal agent Maj. Motoko Kusanagi (Atsuko Tanaka) trails 'The Puppet Master' (Iemasa Kayumi), who illegally hacks into the minds of cyborg-human hybrids. Kusanagi's pursuit of a man who can modify the identity of strangers leaves her pondering her own makeup, and what life might be like if she had more human traits. With her partner (Akio Otsuka), Kusanagi corners the hacker, but her curiosity about her identity sends the case in an unforeseen direction."
