Rapper Rick Ross was taken into custody on Wednesday by a U.S. Marshals Service fugitive task force and sheriff’s deputies at a mansion in Fayette County, south of Atlanta, according to The Huffington Post.
Ross is being held in jail on charges of kidnapping, aggravated assault and aggravated battery, according to the U.K. publication BBC News.
Ross’ bodyguard, 42-year-old Nadrian James, reportedly faces the same charges. The rapper is reportedly accused of forcing a man into a guesthouse at his mansion and beating him in the head with a handgun, chipping his teeth and mangling his jaw so badly he’s unable to chew food, authorities stated in court records.
“The victim lost use of his jaw and is restricted to soft foods and liquid diet only as a result of not being able to chew food,” an arrest warrant reportedly stated.
“The victim was then questioned under duress and forced to answer questions at gunpoint.”
Jim Joyner, a supervisor with the Marshals’ Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force, reportedly told AP that officers showed up at the mansion, but someone inside initially refused to let them through.
“They refused to open the gate, so we opened the gate for them,” stated Joyner.
“They didn’t put up a struggle or anything.”
This is reportedly the second time Ross has been arrested in Fayette County. Earlier this month, Ross was reportedly booked into the county jail on a misdemeanor charge of marijuana possession.
Ross and a passenger were reportedly pulled over because the windows of the vehicle violated tinting regulations. Officers reportedly smelled marijuana and found some inside the car, according to Fayette County sheriff’s spokesman J.Allen Stevens.
