Disney's "Maleficent" movie offered viewers with a different take on the classic tale of "Sleeping Beauty" by telling it from the point of view of the villain. The movie narrated a back story on how Maleficent became an evil witch, and later revealed that she had goodness within her.
Rumors have also come out that Disney is working on a sequel to the first "Maleficent" film, which reportedly made almost $800 million worldwide. Actress Angelina Jolie is still being eyed to reprise the lead role, and screenwriter Linda Woolverton is said to write the script.
But a Wattpad writer might just have forestalled the rumored sequel by creating a story and imagining the Disney film as "Maleficent 2: After The Curse." The writer dished out some juicy details in the fan fiction sequel that Disney's Maleficent 2 team might be willing to consider.
The writer's depiction of the Disney film in "Maleficent 2: After The Curse" is a revenge story of the castle soldiers against Maleficent who became Queen of the Moors and lived with Aurora when the first movie ended.
"It's been a month since Aurora left the castle to live in the moors with Maleficent and things couldn't be more perfect," writer shimmer15935 said in the Wattpad summary.
The fan fiction creator also said one day Maleficent realizes that the people in the castle are thinking that she "kidnapped" Aurora and that she is "holding her hostage in the moors. "Maleficent 2: After The Curse" builds up with the soldiers marching on the land of the fairies.
The writer's 25-part Wattpad story has been read more than 17,000 times as of press time, and the readers said they love how it is written with one commenting, "I loved the movie and this is what I pictured happening too."
Whether some parts of this story will be incorporated in Disney's Maleficent sequel movie, fans are excited especially that Disney is not reportedly in preparations for the film.
Website Gossip and Gab is positive that Angelina Jolie is returning despite her previous statements that she is looking forward to retiring from acting.
While there is no word yet on whether director Robert Stromberg will return for Disney's Maleficent sequel, the website said the company hopes and "has a lot of confidence" that Angelina Jolie will reprise her role once more.
"I enjoyed it. I just feel like we did this one thoroughly and I don't think there'd be another," the actress said in another report. "I feel like this is the one, if I was going to ever do a Disney one, this is the one I wanted to do. And I think we've done it well."
