Even though NBC says it is final "Hannibal" season 3 will be the last of Lecter-Graham unusual romance on television and the foods that make viewers drool, fans can still hope for another run from the Bryan Fuller horror series.
The writer-director is pretty optimistic they will find new home. Now, if fans are sincere with their feelings about the show, here is the best thing they can do.
Deadline reported "Hannibal" will participate at the Comic-Con next month. The show will not only use the event to give back to its fans but also to size up people's reception. The entertainment website wrote:
"The blood is still warm from Hannibal's axing Monday, but NBC wants to get the thriller down to San Diego for a postmortem next month. The network confirmed today that it is taking the Mads Mikkelsen-Hugh Dancy creepshow to Comic-Con along with fall rookies Blindspot and The Player. The three dramas will join NBC's Con lineup of Heroes Reborn and Grimm, which were announced last week.
In theory, the reception for Hannibal could help its chances for pickup at another network. Deadline reported yesterday that there has been a significant interest in the series from other outlets.
The 45-minute panel is set for Ballroom 20 at 5 PM on Saturday, July 11. A sneak peek of the "Red Dragon" storyline will be followed by a Q&A with cast members Dancy and Richard Armitage along with executive producers Bryan Fuller and Martha De Laurentiis."
"Hannibal" season 3 has so far only aired three episodes and by the time Comic-Con takes place, the show is already more than half way in its current season. Fannibal who will line up in the yearly event can surely contribute on the saving of the show which has earned critical acclaim since the first season.
Right now, EP Martha De Laurentiis is optimistic "Hannibal" will live another day... another season. In her Twitter account, she said:
"Hannibal was always in danger of cancellation due to subject matter, and others have expressed interest in partnering with us," the official account posted.
