"American Idol" season 15 will be the long-running Fox show's final season and aspiring singers are scrambling to nab that last "Idol" title.
Auditions are currently being held all over the US and hopefuls have been flocking to the audition venues for a chance at fame.
According to the Times Of San Diego, 1,500 aspiring singers came to the Waterfront Park to try their luck at the singing competition last Monday. Two audition buses are reportedly touring the country for the whole month. The said buses started touring last week with one starting in Seattle and another in Providence, R.I.
"More formal auditions are scheduled next month at arenas in Denver; Savannah, Ga.; Philadelphia, Little Rock, Ark. and San Francisco," the report further stated.
Since "American Idol" season 15 will be the last one for the audition program, producers will be looking for the best amongst the best musicians and singers.
"We're looking to go really big in Season 15, and there's been a lot of idols before, so it has to reach a really high bar," senior producer Brian Robinson reportedly told Fox 5 San Diego about the ongoing auditions. "We're looking for someone who is ready to compete in the finale."
Meanwhile, the search will continue at Santa Fe this Friday at the Santa Fe Railyard, according to the Santa Fe New Mexican.
Meanwhile, judges Keith Urban, Jennifer Lopez and Harry Connick, Jr. will be returning for "American Idol" season 15. Although the current judges and producers of the show have expressed their interest in inviting back past jurors of the show (particularly the original three - Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Paula Abdul), no confirmation has been given about their return.
On the other hand, former judge Mariah Carey refused to come back, calling her time on "Idol" "the worst experience of my life."
