Summer is the best time to go out and enjoy the sun but there's also a high risk of getting burned skin from harmful UV rays. Here are some summer beauty tips that can help you have the best time on the beach without the dreaded sunburn!
First off, you have to choose the right sunscreen. According to Stylecaster, using a higher SPF will give you better protection from the sun's rays. You also have to remember to look for sunscreens that will be able to protect you from both UVB and the deeper penetrating UVA rays.
Slathering on a high SPF sunscreen in the morning won't assure protection throughout the day either.
"Even most high quality waterproof sunscreens only have a resiliency for about 80 minutes, and that's without toweling off. To play it safe, reapply often and take breaks from direct sunlight," the Stylecaster article said.
Apply sunscreen often and liberally. You also have to apply the stuff even under your clothes. According to experts, a normal shirt only provides an SPF 8 for your skin.
Kerry Washington also shared her own summer beauty tips concerning sun protection to Glamour.
According to the "Scandal" star, you should wear your sunscreen every day.
"It changes depending on where I'm working-but even when I know I'm going to be on the lot, I still use it because I'm going from my car to the trailer, and from the trailer to the sound stage. Or we might end up shooting on location, who knows!" she shared.
You should also remember to put sunscreen even on the smallest crevices of your exposed body - this includes your feet, ears and other easily neglected body part.
Also, if you want to always keep yourself protected from the sun's rays, you should always bring you sunscreen with you wherever you go.
And of course, never be lazy to put on sunscreen every day.
"Sometimes I get so lazy and want to run out of the house without moisturizing all over. But what good is it if only your face is protected from the sun but the rest of your body is completely vulnerable? Learning to take the time to do that is extremely important," Washington further told the fashion magazine.
