We left Liv Moore (Rose McIver) in a very dark place during the first season finale and according to showrunner Rob Thomas, she won't be getting back into the light at least in the beginning of "iZombie" season 2 either.
Her decision not to give a dying Evan (Nick Purcha) her tainted blood will reportedly isolate herself from her family. Additionally, her decision to Major (Robert Buckley) into a zombie against his will to save his life will also put her in a strained relationship with her ex-fiance even if she did give him the cure a couple of hours later.
But she won't have the luxury to wallow in "iZombie" season 2.
Christian Post reported that several people will be introduced next season, including Liv and Evan's dad.
"We have been talking about Season 2 as being the Season of Dads. We might meet several people's dads in Season 2, including [Liv and Evan's]. We kept him intentionally unmentioned because we hadn't worked out how we wanted to bring him in or what we wanted to do with him," Thomas reportedly said.
"We have a desire to do it, and I think we have a neat backstory on their dad,"
Aside from her family issues, she will also be dealing with the aftermath of the Meat Cute explosion.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Detective Clive Babinaeux (Malcolm Goodwin) will be suspecting Blaine (David Anders) and Major for the bloodbath in Meat Cute which also killed Captain Suzuki. Although Clive only briefly met Blaine in the first season, he never got his name. Suzuki, on the other hand, wrote the (ex) zombie boss' name on the wall in his own blood before blowing the place up.
"That's going to be Clive's white whale in season 2," Thomas reportedly told the entertainment site.
Aside from looking for Blaine, he will also suspect Major's involvement in the case. After all, the guy that Major allegedly shot and accused as the Candyman was a casualty of the blast.
With both Blaine and Major linked closely to Liv, International Business Times thinks this will put a strain on her and Clive's working relationship.
"iZombie" season 2 will come back this Fall on the CW.
