"Empire" season 2 cast will be bigger than the first judging by the names the Fox TV series enlisted.
For its second season, the hit musical drama of 2015 hired comedian Chris Rock and music royalties Lenny Kravitz and Alicia Keys for guest roles.
There are also rumors Eminem, Oprah, and Denzel Washington are being courted for the show and join lead stars Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson.
If there is another A-list artists confirmed to join "Empire" season 2 cast anytime soon, do not be surprised as according to series co-creator Danny Strong, many celebrities are calling him to request a part in the show.
"A lot of people want to be in the show, but it's a balance of making the show feel real and not let the stunt-casting overwhelm it; at the same time the stunt-casting is completely organic in the world of musical superstars," Strong said in an interview with Variety.
"Empire" season 2 release date is September 23 and when it premieres, Lyon family will be in a bigger world. In fact, the latest casting news hint of dangerous world for Cookie and her kids while her estranged husband Lucius is in jail. TV Line reported a young female rapper has been cast for the second season although no actress is linked to it yet.
This rapper, daughter of a former kingpin, is someone who will either bring trouble or success in the Empire Entertainment.
Although "Empire" season 2 cast is growing in terms of star power, Strong said they do not intend to make their sophomore season than the first one. In fact, they are not feeling any pressure to duplicate the first season's success.
"Well, I definitely don't feel the pressure to make it more amazing or to make it better or bigger or anything like that.," Strong told Deadline.
"I think that in season one we succeeded in telling our story and that it worked, and so it's just a matter of continuing the story, and making the story work. I find making the story work so difficult, and no one wants it to be as good as I do. So the pressure I put on myself usually exceeds any pressure I feel about anything-so it's more of the same to be honest."
