'Star Wars 7' Spinoff Movie To Be Directed By Former 'Game Of Thrones' Director Michelle MacLaren?

| By

First of the scheduled "Star Wars 7" spinoff movie is going to be directed by "Godzilla" director Gareth Edwards.

And while everything seemed to be right on track for Disney and Lucas Film's "Star Wars" franchise, Josh Trank decided to leave the second "Star Wars 7" spinoff reportedly due to possible "public scrutiny."

And while the second of the scheduled spinoff movies may have had experience a bump on the way, new reports suggest that former "Game of Thrones" director Michelle MacLaren, who is supposed to helm Warner Bros. "Wonder Woman" movie, will replace Trank.

"I want to do something original after this because I've been living under public scrutiny, as you've seen, for the last four years of my life," Trank previously explained of his exit to Los Angeles Times. "And it's not healthy for me right now in my life. I want to do something that's below the radar."

Apparently, MacLaren already met with Disney and Lucasfilm twice to discuss the second of "Star Wars 7" spinoff movie.

According to The Wrap's Jeff Sneider the former "Game of Thrones" director, who dropped "Wonder Woman" standalone film due to "creative differences" is now being eyed to helm a "Star Wars" spinoff.

However, MacLaren has yet to say anything about her involvement with the film.

"Iron Man" director Jon Favreau and "Kingsman: The Secret Service's" Matthew Vaughn are reportedly her competitions for the project.

And while the issue with the new director has yet to be resolved, Yahoo! Movies UK reported that the second "Star Wars 7" spinoff movie is going to be a story about the rivalry of younger Han Solo and bounty hunter, Bobo Fett.
