After Samsung Galaxy A8 reportedly passed TENAA certification in China, the upcoming Samsung deivce pays a visit at FCC, GSM Arena reported.
Samsung launched its Galaxy A series earlier this year and recently revealed its plans to add more devices on this mid-range lineup. As announced the upcoming devices would be the Samsung Galaxy A7, Galaxy A8 and Galaxy A9. But we had barely known anything about the Galaxy A7 and Galaxy A9, while the Galaxy A8 is reportedly releasing soon after passing another certification.
Though the FCC listing did not reveal anything, TENAA listing has confirmed that upcoming Samsung device with model number SM-A8000 will sport a large 5.7-inch, as opposed to the previous leaked of a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display with 1080 x 1920 Full HD resolution.
As for its design, it looks like an improved Samsung Galaxy S6 with 'ounded corners with a wide radius, while the metal frame seems to be a mixture of the designs of the Galaxy S6 and the A-series,' Latino Post wrote referring to the leaked photo.
"The side bezels of the phone are very thin, while the bottom bezel is slightly thicker. There is also a bigger home button to fit the fingerprint reader properly. The rear portion of the smartphone has a pearl white finish and features the usual camera, speaker and flash layout as other Samsung phones. However, the speaker and flash exchanged positions."
Aside from the large screen display, the TENAA listing went on that its octa-core processor is clocked at 1.5GHz supported by 2GB of RAM and on board 16GB of internal storage which can be expanded through a microSD up to 128GB. (via Phone Arena)
The chipset used on the Samsung Galaxy A8 was not specified, GSM Arena speculates that "the smartphone's position in the lineup point to a Snapdragon 615 with it's performance cores clocked slightly below Qualcomm's specified maximum of 1.7GHz."
When the Samsung Galaxy A8 goes official, it will be Samsung's thinnest phone as to date if the dimensions of 158 × 76.77 × 5.94 mm are to believed. It has been also rumored that a 3,050 mAh battery will be baked in.
