Ciara Renee is relatively new compared to other "Legends of Tomorrow" cast. Her only TV credential before the CW "Arrow" - "Flash" spinoff series is "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit."
Hawkgirl/Kara Saunders is her first major role and the pressure here is big for the 24-year old actress as Hawkgirl is one of the most loved comics character.
It is also worth mentioning that "Legends of Tomorrow" is a show expected to duplicated the success of "The Flash" where it was spun from. While Renee don't have anything to boast on her acting resume, it seems stars are aligning for her when it comes to TV gig.
Spoiler TV reported the Renee is set to have her own show tied to other DC Comics TV series airing right now. The "Legends of Tomorrow" cast and her Hawkgirl will have her standalone TV series which is also expected to be connected to "The Flash."
"SpoilerTV has learned that The CW is planning a separate Hawkgirl TV series starring Ciara Renée," Spoiler TV wrote.
"The project is currently in very early stages of development. If The CW decides to move forward with it, it will most likely bypass the pilot stage and get a straight to series order. It is unclear if the series will be set before or after the events of The CW's upcoming TV series Legends of Tomorrow, which also stars Ciara Renée."
Is a standalone Hawgirl TV series really necessary?
Aside from Renee, other members of the "Legends of Tomorrow" cast are are Brandon Routh as Ray Palmer/The Atom, Caity Lotz as Sarah Lance/Canary, Wentworth Miller as Leonard Snart/Captain Cold, Dominic Purcell as Mick Rory/Heatwave, Victor Garber as Dr. Martin Stein/Firestorm and Arthur Davill as Rip Hunter.
"Arrow" star Stephen Amell and "The Flash" lead Grant Gustin are also expeced to guest star in the show set to premiere this fall.
