The latest Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OTA update started to roll out for the Moto X (First-generation) in US, Canada, Brazil.
Moto X(First Gen) users started to receive the OTA updates on the said regions. But users must note that this Android 5.1.1 Lollipop Update is only for unlocked version of the Moto X (First Gen) and Rogers subscribers in Canada, other carrier versions are expected to receive the update in a later date. "I am pleased to announce that we have started full deployment of the 5.1 Android Lollipop upgrade for Moto X (1st Gen) for US Retail, Brazil Retail and Rogers in Canada," revealed Motorola's Senior Director of Software Product Management David Schuster in Google+ post a post.
In addition, a soak test for the Moto X (First Gen) and Moto X (Second Gen) in other regions was made through David Schuster's Google+ post as well and "if all goes well we would expect full deployments to start next week."
''We started soak test today for Moto X (2nd Gen) for the following retail channels:Australia, Belgium, Denmark, Greece, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Italy, Malaysia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Philippines, Poland, Singapore and Sweden,'' David wrote.

Aside from the several bug fixes and material design, the latest Android 5.1.1 Lollipop brings easy access to WI-FI and Bluetooth settings. Also, it features screen pinning and viewing of apps, Smart Lock, and multi-tasking.

-Users can double-tap to open one, swipe left or right to clear one, or clear all notifications from the bottom of the list.

-Notification volume controls can be altered while media is playing
