Carrot Beer Is In The Works In Australia

| By

Apparently, the world of beer is also an ever-changing industry.

The newly discovered carrot beer will soon be debuting in Australia, thanks to Wade Curtis, who runs 4Hearts Brewing Company in Queensland, and carrot farmer Richard Gorman, according to the publication Mashable.

The new Wabbit Season beer is made from a wort that was 16 percent carrot juice, according to The Huffington Post. The beer, as expected, reportedly looks very orange and tastes strongly of carrots.

“I visited an open day at [Gorman’s] farm and thought ‘why not?’” stated Curtis.

“Not only do we love carrots, we also like a beer every now and again. Mixing those two together was just the perfect combination.”

Aside from carrots, the beer also reportedly contains wheat, barley malt and a small amount of hops and pepper.

The brewery has reportedly released 1,200 liters of carrot beer thus far as it’s only available at bars in Australia and at 4Hearts Brewery. Hopefully, carrot beer will expand outside of Australia as it gains popularity.

Whether carrot beer is healthier than regular craft beer is a mystery as the beer hasn’t been tested for how much of the carrots’ nutrients remain in the drink.

“Carrots add the color and earthiness to the beer,” stated Curtis.

“The vitamins from the carrot would also remain but we haven’t tested the beer to see how much.”
