‘Grimm’ Season 5: How Will The Deaths Of His Mother And Juliette Affect Nick? Series Will Turn Darker Next Season

| By

Nick Burkhardt will have to face "Grimm" season 5 without the most important women in his life.

In the last couple of episodes of season 4, Nick not only lost his mother to the Royals but he also had to watch Juliette die in his arms (after she attempted to kill him). These traumatic events will no doubt spur our favorite supernatural cop into a dark road this Fall.

"You know, it's not going to be the same 'Grimm'. I think it will be even bigger, even darker, even weirder," executive producer David Greenwalt previously told The Hollywood Reporter.

The EP also hinted at a huge change in his job as a detective.

"[H]is relationship with the force will probably have to change a little bit," Greenwalt also revealed to International Business Times.

Will the ever level-headed Nick lash out in "Grimm" season 5? Assuming that he thinks that the King is still alive, would he seek him out for revenge or will he be pre-occupied with a new baddie in town?

The season four finale saw the mysterious Wesen group led by FBI Agent Chavez enter Nick's house with orders to get someone. Whether they were talking about Trubel or Juliette is still a mystery.

Thankfully, despite grieving for his mother and girlfriend, Nick will reportedly not blame the younger Grimm for killing Juliette.

"Well, Trubel did what she had to do. What was the choice? Let Juliette kill Nick?" Greenwalt told TV Line.

Co-producer Jim Kouf added, "And hold that against her? No. That's my personal feeling: He's gotta know, being a Grimm, that she had no choice if he were to survive."

On a lighter note, the "Grimm" cast will be joining producers for a panel at the San Diego Comic Con this July. David Giuntoli, Russell Hornsby, Silas Weir Mitchell, Reggie Lee, Sasha Roiz, Bree Turner and Claire Coffee will reportedly be answering fans' questions about "Grimm" season 5 during the question and answer season.
