After announcing Academy Awards Best Actor Eddie Redmayne as the lead actor for Warner Brothers' "Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them" trilogy, the studio also revealed the identity of the female lead opposite him.
According to Hollywood Reporter, Katherine Waterston will be playing Porpentina or Tina, an American witch who will meet Newt Scamander (Redmayne) in New York City.
Waterston is best known for starring opposite Joaquin Pheonix in "Inherent Vice".
Den Of Geek previously named several actresses who were up for the role of Tina. The list included Saoirse Ronan, Dakota Fanning, Lili Simmons and Alison Sudol.
The report noted Wasterson was up for the role of Tina's older sister, Queenie. Kate Upton ("The Other Woman") and Elizabeth Debicki ("The Great Gatsby") are also reportedly in the running for the role.
As for Newt's rival Jacob, Steve Zissis ("Her"), Zack Pearlman ("The Virginity Hit") and Dan Fogler ("Fanboys").
Fans can rest assured that the highly anticipated trilogy will be in very capable hands.
David Heyman, who produced the "Harry Potter" franchise, will be back to take charge of "Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them". He will be working with another "Potter" enthusiast and veteran, director David Yates.
Meanwhile, JK Rowling herself wrote the screenplay for the film. Seeing as she created the entire Potter universe, including the Hogwarts textbook which the spinoff will be based on of, Potterheads can certainly look forward to an incredible series of films.
In other casting news, British actor Robert Lindsay begged the famed writer for a role in the film.
"[Any] decent role for ageing mildly comedic actor currently bearded but willing to shave?" Lindsay posted on Twitter, even tagging Rowling in his tweet.
The author promptly answered Lindsay, telling him that she'll talk to the film's helmer and not to "touch the beard (not because of the role - I just like beards)."
The first film for the "Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them" trilogy will be released in cinemas worldwide on Nov. 18, 2015.
