While he dismissed the idea of having his own "Hawkeye" movie, Jeremy Renner is definitely joining Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr. and Scarlett Johansson in "Captain America 3: Civil War."
"I'm happy to be the ensemble," Renner said in an interview with a previous interview with MTV. "I'm not scratching or clawing to do a solo movie by any means."
Adding, "I think he's a utility guy that can bounce around into other people's universes a little bit, especially like 'Cap 3.'"
Although he never really confirmed his involvement with Marvel's upcoming movie, he also never failed to tease about it.
Even the Russo brothers who is in charge of directing "Captain America 3: Civil War" tried to keep their mouth shut about Jeremy Renner's involvement.
"We can't. That's part of our cone of silence. My head would explode. You saw Scanners, right?" Joe Russo told Crave Online when asked to clarify the rumors involving Renner and "Captain America 3."
"Yeah, that's loosely based on Marvel's policy. Their security team is now... My head will blow up. I can't tell you," he reiterated.
However, Renner finally gave in when he revealed that he will be shooting the movie right from the beginning.
"They start shooting soon, yeah. I start toward the beginning of it. That's going to be a giant movie, 'Civil War,' man," Renner told Uproxx.
IB Times added that Hawkeye would mostly have an important role in the film saying, "Renner's Hawkeye will reportedly have an important role in the beginning of 'Captain America: Civil War.'"
Noting how the "Avengers" ending could play a pivotal role in the upcoming Steve Rogers standalone film.
Meanwhile, the 44-year-old actor, who is reportedly going to shoot another "Bourne" movie together with Matt Damon, teased fans with a Marvel artwork for "Captain America 3: Civil War" on Twitter.
"What do you say? What side are you on? #avengers #civilwar #captainamerica #ironman #marvel," he captioned the Marvel art photo.
"Captain America 3: Civil War" is slated for May 6, 2016 release in 3D and Imax 3D.
