Will Peyton eventually come back for "iZombie" season 2?
Aly Michalka and her no-nonsense attitude as Liv's (Rose McIver) best friend Peyton was quickly liked by fans of the zombie-themed CW show. Unfortunately, she wasn't bumped up to a series regular.
On episode 12 of the first season, Peyton unceremoniously found out the truth about her closest friend and roommate when Sebastian (the Max Rager goon and wayward zombie that Liv accidentally turned, played by Matthew MacCaull) invaded their apartment. Instead of being grateful to Liv for saving her life, she ran and hid from her instead. She also left the promising relationship she would have had with Ravi.
Instead of returning to patch things up with Liv, as most fans would have hoped for, Peyton never came back in the season finale. This made fans a bit worried about Peyton's fate in "iZombie" season 2.
The show's creator, Rob Thomas, was able to address Michalka's casting in an interview with Collider.
"Unfortunately, we don't have Aly Michalka as a series regular and we had a certain number of episodes we could afford to put her in, and we were at our limit there," the "Veronica Mars" producer told the news site.
"And the time we were doing this, she was shooting a pilot and we thought, 'There's a chance we'll never get to see her again, if her pilot goes and she's on a show for the next few years.'"
The said pilot fortunately (or unfortunately) wasn't able to make the cut for ABC which made Michalka "available to us again".
Her pilot may not have been approved but the "Easy A" star is currently busy with her new marriage to long-time love Stephen Ringer. The couple recently got hitched in Italy, according to Just Jared.
Thomas also dispelled rumors that she could be turning into a zombie after being scratched by Sebastian during the scuffle.
"In my mind, she's bumming around Europe right now trying to get her head together," Thomas revealed to Entertainment Weekly.
Do you think Peyton and Liv will patch things up if she does return to "iZombie" season 2?
