Jim Bob, the husband and head of the Duggar clan, also expressed disappointment afterward.
"I do like it longer," he said, repeating it again and again.
The family, nonetheless, remained supportive.
Michelle Duggar’s mom makeover comes during a busy time for the family, though, with 19 children, there are likely few quiet moments. Michelle has campaigned for controversial Senate candidate Todd Akin, Jezebel noted, and has suggested that there could one day be a 20th addition to the family.
Earlier this year she told Today‘s Savannah Guthrie that she and husband Jim Bob are thinking about trying for more children.
“Not that I know of. We would love to, but we don’t today,” Michelle told Guthrie when asked if they had any big news to share.
The Duggars are a deeply religious family and don’t believe in birth control; they became famous after a special on TLC featured the ins and outs of their daily lives, and eventually landed their own show on the network called “19 Kids And Counting”. Michelle prefers to say she is mom to 21 children: “nineteen here, and two in heaven” after two miscarriages. The devoted mother crafted a touching “audio letter” to those children, which she posted on the family’s website.
