Comedy Central's mainstay Amy Schumer made headlines again and this time, by reportedly handing out a $500 tip to a struggling college student with two jobs, when the comedienne dined in a restaurant in New York.
Time reported Monday that Amy Schumer left a waiter with a tip 1000 percent more than her $49 bill when she was dining at Peter's Clam Bar in Long Island, New York.
The report said Amy Schumer and the college student had a conversation about the student's two jobs to pay for his education.
One source told website Page Six that the she went on an "engaging, animated conversation with her server, Ryan, who is a college student working two jobs to fund his education."
Did the actress-comedienne just see herself from hearing the story of the struggling student?
Amy Schumer and the college student shared the same experience working in a restaurant. The actress reportedly waited tables at Michael Jordan's Steakhouse before getting into acting. In an interview with Vanity Fair, she explained how one day a woman came into the restaurant she was working in and told her that she was going to meet with her agent for a possible project.
"So I went in and I did a one-act play to audition for the agent, and he was like, You're pretty mediocre, and I have too many girls like you that are better than you," Amy Schumer said.
Apart from Amy Schumer's move for the college student, she also made headlines a few months ago during the red carpet event of Time's 100 Most Influential people gala.
TMZ reported that the comedienne faked a fall right in front of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West as the couple posed in front of the cameras. It was reportedly an intentional comic move that was nothing accidental.
"I saw them, and I asked my publicist, 'Can I dive in front of them and act like I fell?' And she said, 'I can't stop you,'" the comedienne said in a report by People.com.
